An exceptional gathering at Maasmechelen Village, on the occasion of Tourism Day on May 24th 2024. An event that brought together key players in the F&B, hotel, tourism and gastronomy sectors to discuss the political and economic challenges facing the village and the magnificent region that surrounds it.
The event kicked off with an inspiring introduction by Hilde Vautmans, Member of the European Parliament: “Maasmechelen Village is a great initiative that focusses on « Best in class” product and services. These speeches underlined the importance of collaboration and innovation for the region's tourism and economic development. At this 2nd edition of Tourism Day, the tasty tone was set by local gastronomy.“This year, we launched for the first time our Wine Guide in Belgium, in which the province of Limburg is the best represented. In terms of wine, this is the best region to come to.” Frank Cops, Director Of Operations of Gault & Millau Benelux. With its four restaurants, Maasmechelen Village delights gourmets and emphasizes the Limburg flavors that are also an attraction of the destination. “I am really proud of our region, the surrounding of Maasmechelen Village, where our wines are really the exposure of Limburg”.
